A retrofit communication system designed to connect firefighters’ existing SCBA masks with their radios.
FYRCOM is a firefighter communication system designed to integrate with existing SCBA masks and radios. It combines a mask-mounted microphone and speaker with a wired radio connection, supporting communication while respiratory protection remains in place.
Development brings together custom electronics, mechanical integration, and thermal protection in a compact assembly designed for demanding fireground conditions.
The system is progressing through prototype testing, with emphasis on audio performance, durability, and compatibility with existing equipment.
