Design expertise across additive manufacturing processes, materials, and production constraints.
Request a QuoteAdditive Manufacturing
Additive manufacturing is one of our core design specialties.
We understand how different printing processes affect geometry, tolerances, surface finish, strength, support requirements, and manufacturability.
Our experience includes design for:
- FDM and FFF
- SLA
- Powder bed fusion
- Multi jet fusion
- Polymer and metal additive processes
Design for the Process
A part designed for one additive process may perform poorly or be impossible to manufacture with another.
We design around process specific requirements such as:
- Build orientation
- Minimum wall thickness
- Overhangs and support requirements
- Tolerances and clearances
- Layer direction and anisotropy
- Heat and distortion
- Post processing requirements
The goal is to create parts designed specifically for the additive process that will manufacture them, rather than simply sending conventional CAD geometry to a printer.
